MEET THE FOUNDERS:

Chianti Cleggett, Founder/Executive Director

A Birmingham native, writer and editor Chianti C. Cleggett holds a long-time love affair with the written word. Reading her favorite magazines, and writing for them, tops her must-do list. She has been featured in varied publications, including the Birmingham Times Newspaper, Birmingham Magazine, Business Alabama Magazine and Essence.com, among others. The Ramsay High and University of South Alabama graduate is also an aspiring book author.

In the meantime, Chianti finds joy traveling and actively serving around her hometown with the YP boards and councils of the American Red Cross, Bewhoyouwanna Be Mentoring, Impact Family Counseling and Make-A-Wish Foundation. But her biggest power move has been with the Young Women’s Empowerment Conference (YWEC), which she founded in 2008. Her work with YWEC has garnered recognition and awards from the Ford Foundation and the Birmingham Urban League Young Professionals.

In addition, Noelle volunteers in the preschool department at Church of the Highlands on Grants Mill Road.

Woven in between these various projects, working, and volunteering, Noelle is likely to be found running in a race to raise money for one of her favorite fundraisers, working out in the gym, hanging out at the beach, at a local movie theater, or attending one of the many musical, social and/or charitable events going on in and around Birmingham at any given time.
